I In Nothing

I am above nothing,
I am no night.
I cast no shadow,
I am no light.
I am darkness
And I am day.
I am the sun, the moon, and stars.
I am all time, all within and afar.
All and nothing, all that is and isn’t.
The void and the abyss are deep,
But I am deeper.
The universe has awoken,
Yet I remain a sleeper.
What am I? Can you answer?
Can you see beyond the sieve?
I am all and no one.
But that is too easy to believe.

Ambitions of Man

I’ve seen the void and the void has seen me.
There is a tendency for reclaiming.
For a shadow: light, one can’t be blaming.
I, we all have become shadows, here see,
In the nothing we’re remaining to be.
Under a burning hot star, we’re slaving;
Futile mastery: elements taming.
Mankinds greed, a target too high for me.
The earth bows to no man; man to no one.
A forgotten creator looks down on
The ambitions of man under the sun.
And four fold to pay back what was stolen,
The debt in place, the back it’s borne upon,
Having been paid, He collects from no one.

Dancing Into Dying

Shattered dreams in streams of light
Falling from dying stars in their delight.
One end of the universe fades away forever
And at its center, false hope while drifting into the never.
The nevermore befooled by those
Who into the cosmos would suppose,
Beyond an illusory dreaming and repose,
That one can find self in this shattered light?
Shattered sight and blinding fright
Are chosen not for favor bought
Falsly from an unforgiving reaper
Who take those sooner who wish for fewer for others and name the nameless night.
Abyss unto abyss and beneath this on your cheek a kiss,
For I’ll knowingly befoul the nihilism in my soul
For one hour of giving you my whole
Heart. Then while the universe around us dances into dying,
Hold me close and you I’ll hold closer flying,
Into that endless night.
Then there’s no reason that we fail to be
When eternity shall stand witness before us while we forever see.

Quote

Lucida

She was born and Lucida was her name.
Constant was her existential crisis
To her condition lay all of the blame
And pass responsibility of this
To nobody else per her solitude.
To her, it seemed, others were too distant.
Possessing this mindset, this attitude,
She has borne the cold mask of dissidence.
She would soon discover, but now unknown,
Like those of the sky: Vega and Rigel,
She among many, the brightest to glow.
What is seen on her surface predicts well
The beauty within only others see.
She’ll learn she is as much as she believes.

Dancing with a Singularity (The Solar System and a Black Hole)

Dancing with a singularity,
The Sun shows off its rays.
With a sort of morbid clarity,
His last lights did play.
And calling to his closest love,
The Moon, he did express,
One last fairwell from above
With grief in all excess.

From beyond it came so silent,
From beyond it came so quick,
Invisible ’till Saturn passed by it
And it grew an accretion disk.
After Saturn it was Jupiter,
Mars was safely out of reach.
This beast would not come to her;
The Moons lover would host this leech.

Those remaining watched in horror
As the others were torn limb from limb.
The Earth, and Mars her brother;
Those surviving. The last of kin.
Then the final dance was qued,
The Sun and the singularity.
Such a violent death ensued.
Mercury and Venus, were engulfed certainly.

Afterwards the beast moved on,
Wearing the Sun as a mausoleum.
With the only evidence life had gone on,
In the disk,
That momentarily had been a coliseum.

From My Tiny Window

From my tiny window, I
Gaze outward towards the sky.
Looking at the gathering black,
And wonder, does it ever gaze back?
The blackened night, the moon and stars,
I ask them questions from afar,
And behind my window I’m concerned;
Do they ever whisper in return?

An Unknown Glow

He did not care to think beyond
The night times star and heralds song.
It called for him a dawn brighter.
Brighter, and more clearly so.
Lighter
He tread on through dusks of unknown glow.
With none but his own inhibitions,
He held himself back with these and his suspicions.
He and day. Between them a wall.
His crippling paranoia standing tall.
There pacing back and forth within the boundary of the shadows,
He cannot sacrifice the weight that keeps him in this land so fallow.
