Leaving

Farewell to a constellation
Of regret, but mostly memory
And memory cherished.
No night without dreaming
And I dream,
I dream of naught.
No stars without darkness,
No morning I sought.
And to say goodbye to
Friends become family
And family become blood bought.
How quickly I forget
How quickly the memory runs cold and blameless.
How quickly I’m forgot
And we remember that this is meaningless.

Waiting for the Snow

Follow me into the light
The sun would lend you anyway.
“Tomorrow’s gone, now have no fright.”
The foggy morning says.
Were I to ask you what the night
And moon and stars would say,
Do not answer if you do not know
I musn’t know today.

Continue on the path with me
And soon I will show
What you’ve been waiting for,
But you must wait until the flowers grow.
Spring to summer, summer to fall
Follow me and we’ll go
With our questions, searching for answers
While we wait for winters snow.

Dark Stars

What paths illuminated by the small stars in the dark
Are to be tread when the deep hours of the night depart?
One may wander and stumble to and fro,
In doing so they squander what time they have to find home.
Given time one may learn what dim path to take
As long as the lesson they do not abbreviate.
Even the wisest are not certain of which dark star to follow,
But their minds are open to learn which ends are hollow.
We all choose a path and further down may choose another,
we cannot always tread the same way as our sisters and brothers.

I In Nothing

I am above nothing,
I am no night.
I cast no shadow,
I am no light.
I am darkness
And I am day.
I am the sun, the moon, and stars.
I am all time, all within and afar.
All and nothing, all that is and isn’t.
The void and the abyss are deep,
But I am deeper.
The universe has awoken,
Yet I remain a sleeper.
What am I? Can you answer?
Can you see beyond the sieve?
I am all and no one.
But that is too easy to believe.
