A hope in the darkness shines
There’s the black with light behind.
We have pain, but also given joy.
An upward mindset now employed,
With something to look forward to
When this is all that we can do.
A hope, even as small as this,
Is enough to return to bliss.
When a length of time is spent in dispair,
It’s enough to know such hope is there.
The second piece written to one of my wifes paintings. Prints for sale at http://www.relentlesslovecreations.com
The faithful promises that hold her,
All that’s allowed to pass her by.
The days come to an end,
In the same way does the night.
More faithfulness this promise lends
Than the changing of dark to light,
From the fires in the autumn,
To the waters that fall in spring.
With these she has such a song,
The silence ceases as she sings,
Of the promise of the morning,
Of what this new day will bring.
The first piece I’ve written based on one of my wifes paintings. The first of many I’m hoping 🙂 check out her other works at: http://www.relentlesslovecreations.com
So much lost today.
Of the pieces left behind,
I’m glad you’re still here.
The deadly silence, can’t you see,
Floating between you and me,
Threatens to tear us, break apart,
From this destiny we’ll depart?
One less hello, one less goodbye,
Is all it takes to pass us by.
Before we know it we’ve moved on
Trying to find where our hearts belong.
Little do we search and little do we know,
Into what stream all our time flows.
One more day and all our hope,
Away, perhaps on wings, float.
In this way, we will see,
If we’ll take our paths, separately.
Through the fog,
This deadly smog,
Not unlike lanterns,
Shown Through, fires burn.
One more night in darkness.
Will I be apart from this?
Before long I hope,
Past the dark sea,
When there is light to see.
A pain to her falls,
Suddenly did it call.
She, being unaware,
So quickly took to dare.
Not a thought to her future,
What would become of her.
Unprepared for the pain
Desolation her only gain.
Within these walls she stays
Hoping for another day.
From whence comes the summer snow,
Where sunshine dwells and warm winds blow?
The deceiving light of day.
Dark clouds breaking clear the way.
A tantalizing reminder of winters past.
A cold relief that cannot last.
The snows of summer are now gone,
To a place where it, more enduring, belongs.
And I, wishing for things that cannot be,
Hold it in my heart, where it’s more than a memory.
