More and more he wanted to show,
How he hated the way I’ve grown
And lack of compassion shown,
But this dim light.
Here swallowing fear for so long,
The darkness has dimmed the sight
He once used to view hope.
And in it’s absence, he cried.
She wanted to love me more,
She said she could not before
I shed my despair. She says: “Just try!”
But I see no love in those eyes,
Stay down. The conductor waits,
To preform another movement.
I’ll try to guess what that is.
So tired of sitting.
So tired of sleeping awake.

A breath of entropy,
A bright glow,
A light embracing ruin.
Staring into flames I see,
Not much more than smoke.
I find a space that truth’s in.
In darkness, home.
The world’s alone.
Each orange one hugs the fallen.
The fire has me,
Enraptured to see.
A light embracing ruin.

We are followed everyday by shadow,
By the long shadows of our future selves.
Time has no meaning in an endless flow,
Where shadows patiently wait for our tales,
When they will be told in a different light.
How is it we’re constantly in sunset?
In sunset about to pass into night.
Darkness, when we return to sleep so blessed.
All our cold shadows sit and wait and see,
When we arise, where we might float and go.
When life-blood loosens its grip and we’re free.
There’s a secret to the sunset I know:
“One wakes only in the twilight of day.”
Our shadows to us, have oft’ tried to say.

I am more than the sum of my parts,
More than this limiting human form.
My ego death, each one before it,
Are just pieces of me that die.
I am something new each day,
Each sun that rises has a thing new to say.
There will be darkness mixed with light,
The something new could be imperfect, it might.
With briefly nothing to adore,
My ego death will find me waiting,
And I won’t be me, anymore.

I am above nothing,
I am no night.
I cast no shadow,
I am no light.
I am darkness
And I am day.
I am the sun, the moon, and stars.
I am all time, all within and afar.
All and nothing, all that is and isn’t.
The void and the abyss are deep,
But I am deeper.
The universe has awoken,
Yet I remain a sleeper.
What am I? Can you answer?
Can you see beyond the sieve?
I am all and no one.
But that is too easy to believe.

The wandering of soul
When found in want of a home.
Who knows what this one did
To find the face so dimly hid.
Out of the shadows we soon won’t see,
Where the soul has ought to be.
And one more passing by a moment
What was here, the soul has shown it.
Its actions louder than words could express,
It falls into darkness, and fades like the rest.

I am the face upon the wall.
With no mouth to you I call,
I say once more let shadows conspire!
Put no other memories of yours to fire!
I am the eyes that see you sow
Seeds of of joy where darkness grow.
I am repressed, denied, held down,
I’m beneath the gilded smile, a frown.
A few more days till darkness takes
A chance within you to awake.
Are you strong enough to stand,
To hold up light in an unknown land?
I am here and always will be.
Only time will tell if you surrender to me.
