Low Lights

Low lights speak your name.
The red and orange; no moonlight to dull them.
You wander nighttime streets through fog to see,
Or to not see. Why else by night?
A cradle of second sunrise,
If you make it you’ll be mine.
We shall see in time,
If these red lights stain your eyes.

The kings Walls Have Eyes

Why do the watching spy?
This question of the eyes
That congregate on the wall,
Who are they watching if at all?
“Their gaze is cast on those,
Who with violence would impose.”
Fools! The eyes are cold and cannot see
Into the hearts of you and me.
They grow from fear and it permits
A listener now to come and sit.
Now that the kings walls have ears as well,
Tell me,
What safety is there with such secrets to sell?

Light to See

Through the fog,
This deadly smog,
Not unlike lanterns,
Shown Through, fires burn.
One more night in darkness.
Will I be apart from this?
Before long I hope,
Past the dark sea,
When there is light to see.

Buried the Evidence

image

They bury all the evidence,
Secrets of poison, such escaping.
Bury all the evidence.
Rather than blind a thousand eyes,
Bury all the evidence.
Cemetery. A new home.
Once buried is the evidence,
Ears began listening,
Eyes began searching.
They buried all the evidence,
But the space left behind could not be covered.
They bury all the evidence,
But still they run; no rest for the wicked.

Chosen to See

He woke up to a new day.
Upon the discovery of this new dawn,
He tried and found nothing wrong.
Some judged him. This pessimistic way.
They could not see he was happy all along.
In trying and finding that nothing was wrong,
He discovered a peace he loved to belong.
There was the wrong, he chose not to see it.
He tried to show others the way to believe it,
Some joined him in happy, while others did not.
The ones that didn’t, their joy they forgot.

Turned A Blind Eye

About, she whirls,
And all the world,
Sees a foolish, silly girl.
They don’t see
She’s turned to flee,
From the growing, this black sea.
Running from flame,
Always the same,
They don’t care from whence she came.
Though she does choke,
They can’t see the smoke,
Saying it’s naught but a childish joke.
She falls to her knees,
With them she pleas,
It’s right there, but they choose not to see.
They pass her by,
They turn a blind eye,
Dismiss her with something as simple as a sigh.
Around she twirls,
And the whole world,
Sees nothing more than a foolish girl.
