Prodigal Daughter

SplitShire-0514
A cold morning soon gone,
Another path she won’t belong.
Everything she’s said and done,
Remembered by another one.
It’s too heavy. She can’t carry this alone.
When in truth she isn’t, they wait for her at home.
But the lie that she’s conceived,
Would say none would be pleased.
In truth again: they would forgive.
They just hate to see her gone,
And in darkness live.
Waiting for her every day with open arms,
Hoping she’ll return to them, safe from harm.

Pain and Safety: The Mirror Sestet poetry challenge

xxdownload59

Pain brought to my wrist by the coming rain,
Rain bringing nothing to me but pain.
Insight worthless here, cannot think at night.
Night would dull the pain and my insight.
Can never be shown, I alone must search for land.
Land in safety: I must and I can.

A little bit about arthritic pain. The last two lines are about how sometimes one can do nothing about it but wait for it to pass.
