Stillness

Water, mountain, stone.
Ship sails among reflections.
Stillness of summer.

Pebbles

This pebble.
This descendant of boulders,
This son of mountains.
This once strong and mighty thing
I see here in my path.
I kick it.
It matters not.

Weary Paws

On weary paws
Through stretched out days
Blood stained claws
To memory fades.
“No rest for the wicked”
An unfair sentiment?
Because he’s unrestful
Means he’s not innocent?
Onward he plods
Through wind and though rain.
Those looking down,
Unaware of his pain.
Unaware and uncaring
The crowd stares on.
Mountains cold and glaring,
Bear has been gone so long.
Gone with no place to rest.
His cave found empty
He sleeps. Hoping for the best:
A welcoming dawn to see.

Craters

Side of a mountain,
One with evidence of battles.
Earth fought the cosmos.

Unacceptable Stairs

image

The mountain, the ark
The ziggurat. Embark
Upon a path of oneness that time forgot.
The head that floats there,
Those that lead into the air,
An end not unlike a brain and a blood-clot.
My ego death and following joy,
The Infinite stairs that you employ,
Provide the motivation to persue another one.
An imbalance in your being,
Those of the oneness now seeing.
With the guardian of the mountain struck down, I’m done.

This poem was inspired by Lemongrabs part in the Adventure Time episode “The Mountain”. As I’ve had no permission to use any of the trademarked names mentioned, I politely ask that the owners of said names do not “C and D” me.  🙂  please?  Okay thanks.

An Average Day

The eye opens to the first light of day.
The sky fills with clouds,
And rain falls.
An old man imparts his wisdom,
And a young man learns.
A bear wakes from her slumber.
A mountain bows to the wind.
Earth moves farther ’round the Sun.

The eye opens to the first light of day.
An old man fills with clouds,
And rain falls.
The Sky imparts its’ wisdom.
A Mountain learns.
A bear rises from her slumber,
And a young man bows to the wind.
Earth moves farther ’round the Sun.

An eye closes to the first light of day.
A young man fills with clouds,
And wind blows.
A mountain imparts its’ wisdom,
And a bear learns.
An old man begins his ever-slumber,
And the rain bows to the sky.
Earth moves farther ’round the Sun.

End Time

image

She sat there waiting for the sun to set.
Between the shoreline and mountain, waiting.
Here a memory,  near her heart is kept.
There she guards it to keep it from fading.
It is unknown whom she is waiting for,
And watching to return from the cold sea.
Or perhaps from beyond the mountains ‘ore
He’ ll fly. Her lover, friend, maybe a she?
It matters not. In those eyes pure love burns.
I needn’t see the face nor hear the name,
To know she feels pain in waiting her turn,
Though she loves with love,  and is loved the same.
At the foot of mountains, on the shoreline,
She’ll wait with her love until the end time.
