Sit in shadow,
Bathed by the light.
Wonder where to go,
Preparing to take flight.
I’ve nothing to take with me,
I’ve nothing to leave behind,
Naked into the world I enter,
And naked I leave it in kind.
I am solemn in the dark,
I’ll live and love what’s best,
Who’s to say what’s what?
Do you know the qualifying test?

I had died atop a wall and my grave found me smiling.
I died not from the fall, but in the change of dying.
Form to form, now not the same.
As one who sleeps through winter
No snow on my eyes fallen,
As in death there is no winner.
Through seasons of my body? No,
Through seasons of my soul.
My former self has died, but I
Shall live on or so I’m told.

What’s the point to all of this?
To live to love and live in bliss?
Or is it something far away,
What we can’t understand today.
In hunting for this mystery,
All around, what I see,
This thing called life it is fleeting.
At its end, others might be grieving,
But in between the here and there,
Here is a thought to spare,
Why not love in all of this?
So we may live and die in bliss.
