Colors out of shadow reminded him of her face,
Which time in its indifferent boredom has tried to erase.
Her eyes stared at him, or did they look away?
There is no penance for this regret that I would be able to pay.
She left behind shadows and took with her his heart.
That was the last thing with which he would depart.
And just like that, there he stood with nothing left to lose.
His foolish pride and selfishness were the cause he did conclude.
Now every night before sleeping, the shadows meet his gaze.
There he hopes to see the colors that remind him of her face.

You’ve given me the sight,
Do not deny me my vision!
Let this not end again in gifts ungiven!
Too bright to be demonic, too silent for divine,
Help me unzip the flesh; we shall remove the spine.
Vision for dreams, such a cheep replacement.
In need of a backbone, it’s suggested I be complacent.
Offer me what you have! I’ll take vision! I’ll take sight!
In frustration clutching bones, I’ll too fade into the night.
Wait one more day, stay there you’ll see,
Truth seeks out no one, one must chase it and catch it to be
Seen. What comes is lies. What goes with truth?
What we thought of truth stayed, what was left went out from youth.
