A Rock in the Tide

Each rolling wave, away it takes,
A different part, for its own sake.
Watching the tide come and go,
Watching the sand shift to and fro.
On my rock by the shore
I observe the sand.
Though I’m cold
I have no envy for the warm land.
On my rock I observe the ebb and flow.
Here I am safe
From where the tide decides to go.

Ocean and Shore

Water in vain tries to take hold of sand.
The ocean foolishly tries to claim the land.
“Come back to me.” he says to her,
The ocean to the shore.
“A little while longer.”
She answers in reply.
“When our mother in her great blanket,
Warms above: the skies,
Then we shall be much closer,
Our love. You and I.”.

The Conqueror And Then some

I am the
Conqueror And Then some!
They’ll feel my wrath! All lands!
Subjects? Peasants? Servants!
They are but to serve me so!
My water smells too much like water! Change it!
My food dish is a kernel low! Bring more!
Bring to me the silly grass!
What? How dare you tell me no!
Your villages will burn!
You’ll each take my claw as punishment in turn!
But not until I’ve had my nap.
I am the
Conqueror And Then some!
And now I’ll conquer your lap.

A Rebellion of Waves

For waves the sea recedes and rocks that mark its bed,
One sees where sand lets go of another ones dread.
In swelling, falling, crashing, rising, each one tells of the others end.
In vain they argue, a discord of water and sand,
Their frigid spectators, the cliffs behind and the vigilant land.
Such steep demands, the sand tolerates no tribute,
Endlessly dancing in rebellion, they inevitably convolute.

No More

He was in the moment, and the moment is gone.
There in a place he doesn’t belong.
So much fighting outside rages,
But not yet set in histories pages.
The choice is his and his alone,
Will he watch quietly from his throne?
Or stand and act to save his land,
His home falls no more!  It stands!
This choice made him who he is now,
Here with sober mind and furrowed brow,
Regret is now longer required,
He forgets why, but these days have expired.
Now stepping forward with a new found hope,
He’ll see home again, with the wait he can cope.

Into A New Land

Herself found among the weeping angels,
An unmarked grave, she lingers here too long,
And out of the mist, death comes, he curtails
Her attempted mourning, her question, long,
Of did he belong there in that deep dark?
With death half expected, she feigned surprise.
He offers to slake her guilt with his mark.
She lies, believes, it’s not a compromise.
Many divine tears she pays no heed to.
Patiently waiting, knowing time agrees,
Who shows the reaper which gate to go through
And with her consent, he’s allowed the keys.
Into her last twilight, they, hand in hand
Walk away from this world, to a new land.
