I Stand

photo-1462652324346-d623bcf7ac8f
I stand.
Though the waves crash in,
In spite of the pillars around me
Threatening to fall. Eat my sin!
I stand!
Now I can see an infinity,
Because of my choice to stand.
I defy you sand!
You who do not wish to hold my feet,
You, who tries to hide the rock
Behind His destined seat,
Curse you sand!
A thousand times before, I’ve fallen,
And a thousand times more I’ll stand.
Against the waves that seem to be called in,
Though the world may die around me,
Though hell may scourge and mock me,
And remind me of the sin that tries to bind me,
The sand gives way finally.
I’ve found my foundation and rock that saves me.
I spite of a world that would see me die,
I stand.

For the Arms That Hold Me

image

Oh!  For the arms that hold me!
For the hands that pick me up!
For my shelter, my strength,
For unending faithfulness,
For fathomless love,
For eternal mercy that comes from above!
Each and every day there is only one that I owe.
With every breath to Him I become more in debt.
And on the day when I’m finally home,
Shedding light on the secrets from the shadows finally crept,
Infinite forgiveness washes over me,
Unmakes them all, sin ceases to be.
Oh! For the price that bought this soul!
I can never repay, but this gift I can recieve.
Oh! For the day when I’ve come home.
