Seeing More at Night

alessandro-di-credico-202750.jpg
Ever in darkness I
Removed from daylight
Make my own light.
Ignorance isn’t bliss,
numbness can’t be ecstasy.
I see more at night
than others in the day.
I’d rather not subject myself to the blind.
I can see what is coming.

Learning

I am the gate to wisdom,
I am knowings door.
I am a ship left stranded
On a distant forgotten shore.
I contain all knowledge, yet abandoned,
I am a rock on which to moor.
Certainly a burden,
But a cure to ignorance and fear.
Ignorance or I?
Who shall first disappear?

Wisdom Stagnates

In the twilight I sat deceased
While the shadows filled with teeth
I was the child of the night, I was the corpse of dawn.
Nobody wanted change,
Therefore, hence I still remain
While their ignorance brews and their so-called wisdom stagnates.
They do not gather knowledge from,
Everywhere and everyone,
Here’s to a stale world that doesn’t change.
With the light switch out of reach I will remain.

Our Burning House

Ignorance is bliss
Have you ever thought of this?
A burning building full of danger,
Seen by some as majestic splendor.
No. It’s destructive and people are dying.
“I see none escaping, are any even trying?
They should work harder at not being trapped,
Then they wouldn’t be so sad about where they’re at.”
While those in power hold the hose
And water hostage. Will only release those,
If the ones inside, for rescue, pay a fee.
The spectators:”This is not the job for you and me.”
The victims:”We have nothing to pay where will we turn?”
Those in power: “I guess you’ll have to burn.”
Those outside too far away:
“We can all help if a small amount we pay!”
Those close by: “I will not be forced! Out of our own free will, we must choose today.”
Others will die while they retain their “right to choose“.
Everyone will eventually suffer for this bruise.
While everyone has the right to safe roads,
So many will perish in their death throes.

Banish Ignorance

A calling unto deep dreams, musings.
A thought in the past consuming.
No profit gained but still they search for this.
Unforseen consequence transpires.
Everyone here who has conspired
Loses what little left they had of ignorant bliss.
Yet bliss they never meant to hold,
Ignorance they meant to banish so,
Cast aside was their selfish bliss and painful knowledge ensued.
To prepare for the future and learn from the past.
Where others seeks what rust, we what lasts,
With what moths cannot eat nor thieves steal, we’re imbrued.

Paths We Once Knew

image

This is the way we lose ourselves
When madness calls to darkened fells.
When we return to bloodied hands,
To sunken ships stuck in the sand.
Who’s left to hear, who will I tell,
There is no healing for the dead ones,
We are those made of lies spun!
There are no lies but life no truth but death!
The bloodied hands do their best.
We go back for more, we return.
They laugh because we do not learn.
In the midst of this confusion,
In this land that some call home,
So many take bliss and ignorance
In trade for their own soul.
This hopeless pain as fragile as a dream,
A breeze! The fog will clear! Easy does it seem?
Such are those that dwell in this sleep of pain that they,
Would pay in blood the bliss
To keep them safe from change.
Though our sunken ships cannot rise
To take us back from whence we came.
By the road before us the storms we’ve passed now seem so tame.
To build new ships,
Leaving ignorance and bliss,
To start the day brand new.
Take my hand you’ll see,
That together we,
Can take paths we once knew.

No Bed of Angels

image

With glistening eyes,
In a jaded cage he is confined
This: no bed of angels
His desire resides.
One time too many,
A stolen glance
A cost too great to keep company,
An infected wound must be lanced.
He sees perfection.
Ignorance gives way to bliss,
Numbed,
Here in the abyss.
