Summers Snow

download
From whence comes the summer snow,
Where sunshine dwells and warm winds blow?
The deceiving light of day.
Dark clouds breaking clear the way.
A tantalizing reminder of winters past.
A cold relief that cannot last.
The snows of summer are now gone,
To a place where it, more enduring, belongs.
And I, wishing for things that cannot be,
Hold it in my heart, where it’s more than a memory.

Morning Wind

I love to listen to the wind,
Waiting for the day to begin.
After a long and restless night
Now’s the time to take to flight.
Facing whatever the day may bring,
Light or dark, my heart still sings.

All That Suffers

xxdownload87
All that suffers
In such a time.
There’s left to us no buffer,
Where we are confined.
He that hungers,
One denies,
Is of the never slumbers,
And the pain in which he cries.
We’re to hold
Those since disowned.
Our hearts to keep them from the cold,
Our arms to keep them, believe them,
All that suffers is not home.

However, Pressing Towards It

image

Thankful for what again?
Searching, searching, nothing to gain.
Though for the waiting, nothing’s changed,
And your heart is still the same.
Dry and hard and black and cold.
Age not blameless, but not to blame.
“It’s too late.” we should not say.
Within the darkness there is a tame
Light, a hope that takes away
All the fear inside that blames
You instead of it.
This task; mustn’t remit.
To cast off this fear
Will take more than one night.
However, pressing towards it,
Is how you start off right.

Silence Is Required

SplitShire-7786

Hush.
Silence is required.
Cease the chatter from your hole,
That reflects heart, that reflects the soul.
Too many words uninspired,
Crushed.

Wait.
An eyeless face.
Not what is seen but what is heard,
Trust not the eyes and let them burn.
It’s how in the first place.
Fate.

Trend.
All patience expired,
Each, their own wisdom assured,
They decline to listen, grow, confer.
Silence is required.
End.

A Twilight Never Dark

SplitShire-4279

As the day is done,
The sunlight doth embrace,
Oh, my beautiful one,
The fairest of this race.
Within your smile bright,
A twilight never dark.
Never a lonely night,
From you I’ll not depart.
Clouds now mark the way,
For the changing of tomorrow,
Such wind and clouds a dark day?
No matter. With you I’ll not sorrow.
Though on the surface grow old
And outwardly you’ll change.
Your beautiful heart never grows cold.
With you I’ll forever remain.

Falling Water

image

Alas, I am not one so fortunate as to spend my day in rain.
Luxury it would be there to discover any gain.
Oh, but I am one who’s deprived of such many, rainy things,
And must wait for what beyond the dark and cold clouds then bring.
Daily closer to my goal: one to love and one to hold,
I shan’t shiver in the cold, ‘cross this wide, expansive shoal.
The hour then arrives and the water from sky to cease.
From behind the rain: sunlight; your face quickens my heart to beat.
No longer longing for the rain, for the dark, and for the grey,
But to hear the words “I love you” from you to me, every day.
My wish is then granted, every bright or cloudy day,
A home with you I’ve found for my heart and soul to stay.
Falling water running freely from the shoal and to the sea.
The rain kept my hidden desires, my heart open for you to see.
While I miss my dances there, in long, cold, summer rains,
My dance with you is so much more, and here it shall forever remain.
