Fades Like the Rest

The wandering of soul
When found in want of a home.
Who knows what this one did
To find the face so dimly hid.
Out of the shadows we soon won’t see,
Where the soul has ought to be.
And one more passing by a moment
What was here, the soul has shown it.
Its actions louder than words could express,
It falls into darkness, and fades like the rest.

A Wound in Time, May

image

Once was there and not before,
One more passing through pains door.
Then done and something left behind
Another lost memory left inside.
Was it lost or left? How to know?
The clues are in the wake of it so,
An echo in soon forgotten halls, fade.
Something not unlike a mythic creature made.
Its evanescence in a place,
That one wouldn’t want to chase.
In time a wound may purify or heal;
Will one endure more pain to caurerise and seal?

The Impermanence of Being

image

There are those so foolish as to cling to rust,
The impermanence of being, and the certainty of dust.
A bright light now fading, still dimmer, now dead.
“Is there no hope for the living before their end?” it was said.
Our dreams fade like so many days at twilight,
So too our bodies before long can’t fight,
And then we fall, before time, weakened prey.
Our only hope is peace after the frey.
Where guaranteed is our residence in eternity.
Though how we enter it is on us entirely.

Through a Haze, Hope

image

In the wake of this dark ship,
It passing by with my hopes and dreams,
Unclearly seen through a miasmic
Haze left by it, I try to clear my eyes and breathe.
Trapped in this slough, but only halfway.
Light can be seen,
Such as at the end of day.
A light that gives some hope much-needed.
Though quickly it’s fading,
Time remains enough that it’s seeded.
And within my brain what remains of reason,
Encourages some strength to pass this season.
