Sin Eater

The weight he carries is not his own,
It is hidden and does not show.
Once more and once before.
His scars are hidden, behind a locked door.
He did not swiftly to justice go,
It wasn’t his fault,  but you wouldn’t know.
Settling now, he tries to rest his bones,
In some strange place others call his home.
He lets them believe,
He doesn’t want them to see,
The truth that is this deep pain.
He bears the scars of others,
This is his gain.
When finally the weight falls and flutters,
He’ll pick up the next just to stay sane.
