Xenolith

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Week of May 18th poetry challenge: a poem with each line beginning with a letter of the alphabet in sequential order

Armies of silver
Besieging the Xenolith, Aiming to
Conquer.
Determined.
Even when there’s no hope
Found.
Going
Hellbent
Into the coming fray.
Jarred into battle, this
Knight
Leaps from his
Mount, and charges down a
Narrow,
Obstacle ridden,
Path. Fighting for his
Queen.
Running on, swinging his
Sword,
Terrible violence ensued.
Uplifted finally, in the
Victory of his army. Surrounded by the
Waste encompassing that
Xenolith, the earth
Yawned. Every soldier vanished in what would have been their
Zenith. All gone.
