Season’s Change

Basking in the cool lights of blue and green,
One late night in autumn and her promise
Of heavens lights in the north to be seen.
Her end complete, and I thank her for this,
The lights in front, the stars, dancing behind.
The moon tells us the sun gives his blessing.
One bright, falling star gives challenge to find
Ourselves tonight our wishes confessing.
In the midst of this cold and calm, some clouds
In this late hour of night, give us pause.
The white snow, now falling, creates a shroud;
The lights, a play, the clouds, a curtain drawn.
I say goodnight as fall to winter blends,
I’ve my own flames and lights at home to tend.

This one is a re post, I decided to re post it as I finally found a picture of the northern lights to go along with the first few lines as originally intended. Enjoy 🙂
